Acceptable Use Policy

Every server and IP address we run is used by lots of customers at once. Spam or attacks from a single account can get an address blacklisted, and then all the others lose access to it. This policy lists what isn't allowed.

Updated 2026-11-03

1. What is the basic rule?

Obey the law, and never turn CoxVPN against people, networks or online services.

The rule covers the VPN and every type of proxy we sell.

2. Which activities are prohibited?

These are off limits on CoxVPN:

  • committing a crime, or helping someone else commit one
  • sending spam, unwanted ads or bulk messages
  • scanning, attacking or entering systems without permission, including denial-of-service attacks
  • planting malware, or putting up phishing pages
  • copying or sharing pirated content
  • harassing, threatening or defrauding people
  • passing your account to others for money or as a loan, without our consent

3. Which laws apply to me?

The laws of the place you are in and of the place you connect to. Some countries restrict or ban VPNs, and following those rules is your responsibility. Legal advice is something we can't provide.

4. How is abuse found without logs?

Two ways: trustworthy reports from others, and trouble we can see on the network, for example a burst of spam or attack traffic leaving one of our servers.

Depending on the case, we may limit, suspend or close the account. Whatever days or balance remain on a closed account are lost.

5. Where do I report a problem account?

Write to us from My info > Contact us, and add dates and IP addresses if you have them.

6. Is this policy ever updated?

We update it when needed. The top of the page carries the date of the version now in force.
