Is coworking Wi-Fi a risk?
A full coworking floor can put a hundred laptops on the same network. With CoxVPN connected, the building's IT staff and the person at the next desk can't read your mail, files or messages.
At home, the same tunnel stops your internet provider from seeing which services you rely on all day.
Will calls and large uploads be slow?
Passes have no data or speed cap, so a long afternoon call or a 20 GB upload doesn't use anything up. For calls, pick WireGuard and a city close to you to keep delay down.
If one meeting app acts up inside the tunnel, put only that app on the leave-out list. Everything else stays encrypted.
Can I run it next to a company VPN?
Your employer's policy decides, and two VPNs running at once usually clash.
Split tunneling solves most cases. Put the company VPN client and work apps on the leave-out list: they reach the office network the way IT set them up, while your browser and personal apps stay on CoxVPN. Get a yes from IT first.
- Find split tunneling under Settings
- Pick the leave-out mode
- Tick the employer's client plus office tools, reconnect
What if a system only accepts one IP?
Some company systems keep a guest list of IP addresses and turn away everyone else. Shared VPN IPs change, so they can't be used for this.
Pro includes a dedicated IP in a country you pick from 10. Your admin adds it to the list once, and from then on you can sign in from home or from a client's office in another country.
